P6 & P7 Free School Meals for pupils in receipt of the Scottish Child Payment
Free school meals to eligible P6 & P7 pupils where the parent/carer receives the Scottish Child Payment
Under a new Scottish Government initiative, we are now able to consider awarding free school meals to pupils currently in P6 & P7 if the parent/carer receives the Scottish Child Payment for the child.
Please complete the short Application for Free School Meals for P6/P7 uploading evidence that you are currently in receipt of the Scottish Child Payment. This should be an official letter from Social Security Scotland confirming that you receive the Scottish Child Payment for the particular child/children you are applying for. Alternatively you can upload a bank statement showing recent receipt of 'SSS SCP' which also shows your National Insurance Number.
Please do not upload evidence of Child Benefit, this is not a qualifier for this initiative.
The initiative began on Tuesday 18th February 2025, but we are now accepting applications for the 2025/2026 academic year.

The end date is not known, but the expectation is that it will cease when the Scottish Government secure funding to extend universal free school meal entitlement to include all P6 & P7 pupils.

When we approve free school meals the school is automatically notified.
Yes, it will be recognised as free school meal entitlement on the ipayimpact account. If it does show on the account please contact your child's school.
