Community Safety - the National context:

Community Safety - the local context for West Lothian:
West Lothian Community Safety Partners have been working to deliver a new Community Safety Plan 2025-2028 - Safer & Stronger Together.

In addition to all the current work Community Safety Partners do in accordance with their own local priorities, and the day to day work they carry out as business as usual, the new Community Safety Plan 2025-28 will also provide a focus for work in these areas;
- Hate Crime and Sextortion
- Antisocial Behaviour
- Mental Health Services and Gender Based Violence
- Consumer Protection and Safety
- Digital /Online scams/frauds
- Road Safety
- Accidental Dwelling Fires

Governance
As well as working to local priorities within their own service areas, partners will work together and engage in the following ways to deliver the outcomes for the Community Safety Plan 2025-28:
- Weekly Partnership Tasking Group - an operational meeting to discuss ongoing issues that cover antisocial behaviour including noise and hate crimes. Collectively, partners ensure all possible interventions are delivered
- The 6 Weekly Tasking Group - an opportunity for partners to share recent prevention activity outcomes as well as providing an opportunity to identify joint work coming up and discuss any community risks
- Safer Community Strategic Planning Group - a quarterly meeting that allows for performance reporting on the actions and performance indicators set out in the Community Safety Plan
- Policy Development Scrutiny Panels (PDSP) - A quarterly group that oversees and monitors the progress and performance made by the community safety partners
- Community Safety Board - an oversight group that meets quarterly to discuss the progress made on the Community Safety Plan.
