You may have to queue before getting access to the site as sometimes we have to close for servicing, please be patient and respect other road users while you wait. You will have access to all available bays and skips on site. While staff cannot provide any physical assistance to help you remove items from your car and deposit them in the skips, they can advise you which skip to put items in, if you are in any doubt please ask a member of staff.
Bagged waste, bulky items, wood & laminates, scrap metal, cardboard and some electrical items such as fridges/freezers, hoovers and washing machines, please visit the Community Recycling Centres page for more information on what can currently be accepted at the CRCs.
You will have access to all available skips when on site. Skips and allocated areas are all sign posted on site so please look for the relevant area for your waste. If you are unsure where to put any items please ask a member of staff.
Bagged waste is non-recyclable waste from your household bin that you would usually put in your grey bin.
No - due to health and safety our staff are unable to help you lift waste from your car to the skip. If you require assistance please bring someone from your own household with you.
If you need to bring your children with you, they must stay inside the car at all times, children under the age of 16 are not permitted to leave the car whilst on site.
We can't accept the following items on site:
Asbestos
Paint
Explosive waste - e.g. flares, fireworks, shotgun cartridges
Toxic, hazardous or dangerous waste likely to cause damage to containers or endanger staff or any other person
Waste from commercial premises.
Tyres
Acetylene and CO2 gas bottles.
Due to the way in which these items are collected, stored and disposed of/recycled we cannot accept them on site.
There is no restriction on how many times a West Lothian resident can visit a Recycling centre in a car to dispose of their household waste. However, please be aware that very frequent users will be monitored for fair use and waste crime. Bookings for vans or cars towing trailers must be made separately and are subject to restrictions; further information can be found here: Bookings for vans and trailers
