Current Road Closures, Diversions and Traffic Disruptions
Details of road closures and diversions currently in place in West Lothian.
It is our aim to limit the inconvenience to road users during maintenance works however, from time to time, we need to close roads or divert the traffic.

Howden South Road on New Howden Bridge over River Almond will be closed between the roundabout with B7015 Almond Link Road to north of the road bridge to junction with Burnvale to the south of bridge to allow replacement of expansion joint on road bridge and some patching of surfacing on bridge
The Canal Path (Towpath) at Duntarvie Castle Road and Cemetery Access Road at the junction with Niddry Road will be closed for Scottish Power works on towpath
Parking will be suspended on Academy Street and Newland Avenue both sides of the road, from 15 Newland Avenue to the junction with Academy Street and Academy Street from the junction with Marjoribanks Street to Junction with Mid Street for SP Energy works
Drumshoreland Road will be closed near to the entrance to Pumpherston Golf Club to junction with C4 (overnight only) for carraigeway resurfacing works
Details of the M8 overnight carriageway closures from 25 May to 13 July 2026.
Temporary traffic signals will be in place on the B7008 Rural West Calder between the junction with Parkhead Crescent in West Calder and the C24 crossroads to allow for carriageway improvement works
Parking will be suspended on Almond West Road, Craigshill between the access junction to Maree Walk and junction joining to Morlich Walk to provide clear and safe access for construction traffic throughout the construction works of the new Craigshill Primary School. This will also help ensure adjacent resident driveways are unimpeded and protect public safety..
Phase two of works to improve the A904 / B8020 Winchburgh Road junction will continue from Monday 15 June 2026.
The U15 Beecraigs, Rural Linlithgow will be closed from between the U14 and C18 for drainage .
The U15 at Hay Lodge will be closed around the junction with the C18 at Hay Lodge for drainage
The A899, Houston Interchange, Livingston will be closed at various points for repair works
Local residents in the Wester Inch area of Bathgate are being warned over potential travel disruption due to building works
