Temporary Local Bus Arrangements - Closure of Linburn Road, Kirknewton

Passengers should note that the closure of Linburn Road, Kirknewton will cause travel disruption for passengers using Lothian Country service X28.   

Temporary stops will be provided which will allow the X28 to serve part of the village as shown on the map below, however the service will follow a diversion which omits stops east of the level crossing thereafter. 

Therefore, a free demand-responsive Taxibus service will be provided to connect passengers with diverted buses in East Calder.

The Taxibus service will operate between bus stops in Kirknewton and stops on Langton Road, East Calder where passengers can connect with bus services for onward east or westbound travel.

Ideally, journeys should be booked up to 1 hour in advance of travel to ensure smooth connections with buses.

Please advise the call handler which bus stop you intend to use when booking your journey, as this will make it easier for drivers to locate you.
