Library membership

Join the library online for free.

We are still processing online applications during COVID 19.

Please note this application process is for 'NEW' membership applications only.  If you wish to log into your library account please please use West Lothian - Online Catalogue and use either the 'Log In' or 'My Account tab' at the top of the page.  You will need your library membership number and PIN. If you have forgotten your log in details please email library.info@westlothian.gov.uk

  • Once you have completed your online application you will receive an acknowledgement email from us with a temporary ID and another within 2 working days advising your full membership number and PIN. 

  • You will then be able to Access Your Library Account & Search, Reserve and Renew  library resources, borrow items from our libraries using Click/Phone & Collect and download e-Books, e-Talking Books and e-MagazinesIf you do not receive an email providing your full membership details and PIN within 2 working days please email library.info@westlothian.gov.uk.

  • When our libraries reopen you will still need to visit the library to show your proof of ID and collect your membership card and key fob.  If you are under 16 please ask your parent or guardian to complete the form and membership process.
