HR People
Pay & Control Team

The team processes salaries and expenses for employees, elected members and pensioners.  They deal with payroll queries and provide advice on PAYE and other related statutory and non-statutory payments, including pension and third party payments to HMRC.

Recruitment Team

The team is responsible for all recruitment administration including processing of advertisements, interview administration, production of contracts, and pre-employment checks.

HR Support Team

The team delivers core HR administrative processes and provides 1st line advice on terms and conditions of employment and application of HR policies and procedures.

Supporting Attendance Team

The team provides support and guidance to managers in the management of sickness absence throughout all stages of the Supporting Attendance at Work Policy. The team also ensure compliance with relevant legislation and provides access to Occupational Health Services.

HR Policy & Advice

The Policy & Advice Team is responsible for providing HR support to managers who are dealing with complex employment issues involving the interpretation and application of HR policies including grievance, discipline and managing organisational change.

If you are a manager and require support in dealing with an on-going case you should contact your HR/Senior HR Business Adviser directly to discuss. Any other policy queries should be directed to the HR Support Team.

HR Systems & Information Management

The HR Systems & Information Management Team provides a workforce information service for the Council.  This includes providing responses to management information requests, and reports and statistical returns for external organisations.

The team are also responsible for the support and development of HR systems and information reporting tools, in particular the integrated HR/payroll system .

Learning & Development / Workforce Management Team

The Learning & Development/Workforce Management Team provides support in developing and implementing strategies to improve organisational capability by providing advice and service support on employee engagement, employee wellbeing, leadership and people development including planning, designing and delivering learning and development interventions at organisational, team and individual level.  The team are also responsible for MyLearning (opens new window), the councils e-learning system.

Civic Centre Admin Team

The Civic Centre Admin Team provides a wide range of administration and support functions to services located within the Civic Centre, along with all reception and mail services on behalf of the Civic Centre partners.
