Covid 19 Day of Reflection 2026

A special event was recently held to remember the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on West Lothian's communities.

Council staff, elected members and members of the public joined together for a moving event at COVID-19 Memorial Garden in Almondvale Park, Livingston, beside the Civic Centre.

West Lothian Provost Cathy Muldoon welcomed those attending and laid a wreath in recognition of those lost during the pandemic, with Rev. Dr. Nanda Groenewald from Polbeth Harwood with West Kirk of Calder churches leading a poignant remembrance prayer.

The Lament was led by piper Douglas Cherry from St Margaret's Academy

The event was organised ahead Day of Reflection across the UK for the COVID-19 pandemic on Sunday 8 March 2026.
