Heating homes and businesses is a major source of emissions. Heating is also a financial burden disproportionately effecting the most vulnerable in our society.

The Scottish Government asked all Scottish Local Authorities to publish a Local Heat and Energy Efficiency Strategy (LHEES). The LHEES aims to identify energy efficiency and emissions reduction measures that could be suitable to support the transition to net-zero for West Lothian's building stock.

West Lothian's LHEES sets out priorities for emissions reduction and suggested solutions. These suggestions are not proscriptive, they are intended to help guide building owners to the most suitable actions for their building.

This consultation is an opportunity to feedback on how these suggested actions align with your own plans and priorities, what barriers you face and what support you would find useful.
