Work is taking place increase recycling opportunities for flatted properties across areas of West Lothian.
A project is underway that will see upwards of 32 separate bin stores across 12 streets in West Lothian benefit from work undertaken to increase storage capacity and enable the provision of twin stream recycling to upwards of 375 properties.
This will help contribute to ongoing work to continue to improve household recycling rates in West Lothian.
Stoneyburn, East Calder, Fauldhouse, Winchburgh are just a few of the first areas where work is being carried out.
Executive councillor for environment and sustainability recently Tom Conn met with waste operatives at Park Drive in Stoneyburn where residents are set to benefit from improvements made to communal bin storage facilities.
Cllr Conn said: "This project is part of ongoing work funded through Zero Waste Scotland's Recycling Improvement Fund to further increase household recycling rates by creating more opportunities for residents.
"Separating recycling material into a bin for paper and card and a bin for plastics, tins and cans has been found to reduce the level of contamination and increase the amount of recyclable material. This leads to less general waste being sent to landfill which boosts our efforts to protect our environment and reduce carbon emissions."
