West Lothian libraries to re-open
West Lothian Council libraries will start to re-open to the public from Monday 26 April.
The five busiest local libraries at Bathgate, Carmondean in Livingston, Linlithgow, Strathbrock in Broxburn and Whitburn will accept appointments for browsing and PC access from Monday 26 April.
Photocopying, printing and hearing aid services will also resume by appointment at all five libraries on this date.
Appointments will be limited based on the capacity at each library, to ensure the safety of staff and customers, with appropriate enhanced hygiene and physical distancing measures in place for each location.
To book an appointment, please call or email your local library direct. Contact details for each are available at Libraries. PC access can be booked online at Online PC booking (opens new window)
All 14 libraries will continue to operate click and collect services, with opening dates for the remaining nine libraries confirmed presently.
Vice chair of the culture and leisure policy development and scrutiny panel Cathy Muldoon said: "I know many local residents will be delighted to have access to all the excellent services our libraries have to offer once more.
"Please make sure you book an appointment, and on your visit, follow the safety guidance, such as hand sanitising and one-way systems in place, to protect both yourself and our dedicated staff."
Those attending appointments will be asked to come alone where possible, and advise if anyone, including children, are accompanying them.
All customers will be asked to wear a face covering unless exempt, follow the signage in the libraries to use the one-way systems in place, hand sanitise, socially distance and use the test and protect procedure.
Our helpful library staff will be on hand for assistance if required, but will be required to maintain physical distancing at all times.
