Job-related property
How is a property classed as job-related and how much Council Tax is charged.
A job related property is a property which is owned or tenanted by a person whose sole or main residence is a different property which is for that person job related.
The circumstances where a property is classed as job related include:
- Where it is necessary for the employee to reside in the property for the proper performance of their duties, or
- Where the property is provided for the better performance of the duties of the employment and it is customary for employers to provide such a property to the employees, or
- Where a person or their partner is a minister of religion and it is necessary for that person to reside in the property for the performance of their duties.
A job-related property receives a 50% Council Tax discount. You will be charged full water and waste water for the band the property is in.
