About the Duke of Edinburgh's Award
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award (DofE) is a personal development programme that helps young people build confidence, develop new skills and take on challenges outside of their everyday experiences.
Through volunteering, physical activity, skills development and expeditions, young people are supported to develop resilience, teamwork, independence and leadership skills while working towards a recognised award.
DofE in West Lothian
Community Learning and Development (CLD) Youth Services support young people across West Lothian to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award through schools and locally delivered open award groups.
The programme is supported by a dedicated team of CLD Youth Services staff, school staff and community volunteers who help young people access opportunities, complete their sections and achieve their awards.
DofE provides young people with the opportunity to set personal goals, discover new interests, contribute to their communities and develop skills that can support them in education, employment and everyday life.
