How to report a missed bin collection?
If your street is not shown in the table above, please use the link below to fill in our online report a missed bin collection form to let us know your bin was not collected.
Road closures can cause disruption to your bin collection services. Due to their nature they vary depending on the scale of works and the methods that the contractor uses to undertake their work. You should present your bins for collection at the nearest point which can be accessed by our refuse collection vehicles. This is either outside of the closure section itself or in a designated location that the contractor has provided for access to be maintained.
Please note: We will not return for any bins which are not outside this area as it is the residents responsibility to ensure that they are accessible for our crews to uplift them.
Frequently Asked Questions
Any disruptions to normal bin collections will be listed in the table above. Larger scale disruptions such as severe weather or during the festive period will be posted above, on Facebook, email notification (if you have subscribed to email reminders) and local press.
If your bin hasn't been emptied please firstly check to see if it has a tag advising of contamination e.g. there are items bin your bin which can't be recycled in that bin. If you have a tag on your bin please remove your bin from the street, remove the incorrect items and present your bin on your next scheduled collection day. We do not offer additional collections for contaminated bins. You can check what you can and can't recycle in each of your bins here: Information on Bins and Recycling.
If your bin has been missed and doesn't have a tag, please check the table above to see if there have been any disruptions to the service and leave your bin out, in a suitable position not obstructing the path where possible, until the return date shown in the table. Please do not report this as a missed collection as we are already aware and have a plan in place to return for your bin.
If your street is not listed please click the 'Report a missed bin collection' link above and complete the online form and we will investigate the issue. Please leave your bin on the street, in a suitable position not obstructing the path where possible, until it has either been emptied or you have received correspondence from Waste Services advising otherwise.
Grey bin collections are a priority during periods of disruption and will always be collected as soon as possible, followed by brown, blue and green. Blue and green bins are lower priority as they should only contain clean and dry material, therefore no material which would smell, attract vermin or create an environmental health issue.
Should you wish to dispose of your recycling or waste during a disruption to the service you can take items to your local recycling centre, you will find locations and be able to book a slot here: local recycling centre.
