Disputing Your Financial Assessment
What to do if you think your financial assessment might be wrong?
A Reconsideration of a financial assessment can be requested by an individual, their carer or a representative, for the following reasons:
- Relevant information has not been considered before a decision has been made about an individual's financial circumstances
- Incorrect dates or amounts have been used
- The contribution has been incorrectly calculated
- An invoice has been raised for services not received (except where notification of breaks in care should have been notified to the service).
If you do not agree with the income, capital and disregards used in the calculation please contact the Benefit and Financial Assessment Team within 1 month of the date of your financial assessment providing details of why you feel your assessment is wrong.
