Council Tax Status Discounts

The full Council Tax charge is based on two adults (over 18 years of age) living in the property. However, some adults are disregarded for Council Tax purposes because of their status. This means they will not be counted when looking at the number of adults living in the property. As a result you may be entitled to a Council Tax discount.

Note: If the property is occupied entirely by students and/or persons with severe mental health difficulties you may be entitled to an exemption.

The table below provides you with examples of the amount of discount, if any, you may be entitled to.
