Safety of women and girls in public places and spaces consultation

At its meeting on 25 May the council recognised that the onus of keeping women safe should not rest with women and that a wider conversation is needed around the safety of our public places and spaces.

The  Council is now undertaking a consultation with women and girls in the community regarding their perception of safety in public spaces and places.

The findings of the consultation will be analysed to develop a suite of proposed actions to take forward improvements in the recording and analysis of incidents of violence against women and girls in public places and spaces with a view to achieving a reduction in reported incidents.

The consultation will close on 22 October 2021
