Proposed Plan

The LDP Proposed Plan is a material consideration in the determination of any planning applications for development in West Lothian and will in time when adopted by the council, replace the West Lothian Local Plan.

The Proposed Plan provides information on proposed development sites throughout West Lothian and policies to be considered when assessing planning applications.

Proposed Plan and maps October 2015

The Proposed Plan was published on the 12 October 2015 and a six week consultation period was initiated. Representations received to the Proposed Plan within this period can be viewed at Local Development Plan Proposed Plan Representations

All representations received within the consultation period, and the council's proposed response to these, were considered by the Council Executive on 29 June 2016 and the Council Executive subsequently authorised officers to proceed with the submission of the Proposed Plan to the Scottish Government's Planning and Environmental Appeals Division (DPEA) for Examination.

The Proposed Plan was submitted for Examination to Scottish Ministers on 28 October 2016 and the Examination formally commenced in 18 January 2017. To find out more about the examination please click on the menu tab entitled 'Examination'.
