Knightsridge East Road, Livingston - Road Closure (Tuesday 23 Apr)

Knightsridge East Road will be closed in phases for carriageway works.


The phased work will be as follows:

Phase 1 (23 April - 14 May)

  • Knightsridge East Road closed from the junction with Moss Interchange to the junction with Atholl Way and Ladywell East Road closed from the junction with Knightsridge East Road to the junction with Ladywell East Road.

No work on site (15 May - 19 May)

  • Knightsridge Gala Day

Phase 2 (20 May - 31 May)

  • Knightsridge East Road closed from the junction with Atholl Way to the junction with Barclay Way;

Phase 3 (3 June - 12 June)

  • Knightsridge East Road closed from the junction with Barclay Way to the junction with Cameron Way;

Phase 4 (13 June - 25 June)

  • Knightsridge East Road closed from the junction with Cameron Way to the junction with Erskine Way;

Phase 5 (26 June - 5 July)

  • Knightsridge East Road closed from the junction with Erskine Way to the junction with Logan Way;

Phase 6 (8 July - 12 July)

  • Knightsridge East Road closed from the junction with Logan Way to the junction with Ferguson Way;

Phase 7 (15 July - 25 July)

  • Knightsridge East Road closed from the junction with Ferguson Way to the junction with Morrison Way;

Phase 8 (29 July - 7 August)

  • Knightsridge East Road closed from the junction with Morrison Way to 50m west of Morrison Way.

The above days may be subject to alteration once the works are underway.


  • The closures overall will be in place from 9.30am on Tuesday 23 April until 3.30pm on Friday 9 August

Access will be permitted to side roads that are within the above road closures at all times, however there will only be access to these side roads from one direction of each closure at a time. This will be indicated by diversion signage on each working day. No vehicle will be permitted to drive through the entire road closure.

Public Transport have been notified and will coordinate alternative routes and schedules with the affected bus companies and school bus services. Please refer to the Public Transport Service Updates page and bus company websites for further information and any updates during the closure.

Questions and Answers Regarding the Closure

Why are there road works planned for Knightsridge East Road?

Where it is found that a road is likely to require a lot of repair, or a surface has reached the end of its useful life, maintenance work will be planned and scheduled in for completion as part of the Capital Maintenance Programme.

 

Why close Knightsridge East Road?

There is insufficient carriageway width available on Knightsridge East Road to safely carry out the works without closing the road. The road requires to be closed for the safety of the work force and also the safety of the travelling public.

 

Will Knightsridge East Road be closed entirely?

Knightsridge East Road will not be closed in its entirety. Knightsridge East Road will be closed in eight phases, between side roads, as described in the phasing information above.

 

Will I still get access into my street?

Access will be permitted to side roads that are within the above phased road closures at all times, however there will only be access to these side roads from one direction of each closure at a time. This will be indicated by diversion signage on each working day. No vehicle will be permitted to drive through the entire road closure.

 

Can I park on Knightsridge East Road?

Parking is suspended on Knightsridge East Road and will not be permitted for the duration of the works.

 

Can I still use a bus on Knightsridge East Road?

Can I still park in the Fastlink Park & Ride?

The Park & Ride will be open but access in and out will be restricted, similar to street access, when the road works are in the vicinity.

 

Why is parking to be restricted on Cameron Way?

Parking is suspended along the main road and turning loop at the former Harvester pub on Cameron Way to allow the school buses an opportunity to turn during the Knightsridge East Road closure. The culs-de-sac off the main road of Cameron Way and all parking bays along the main road and in the turning loop will remain available for access and parking.

 

Will the road works be ongoing during the Knightsridge Gala Day and procession?

The road works will stop and Knightsridge East Road will be opened in the days running up to the Gala Day and procession on 18 May. Work will resume under a road closure from 20 May.
