ChildLine - Scotland

ChildLine Scotland is the free, confidential, telephone counselling service for children and young people. ChidLine Scotland aims to protect children who are at risk of harm and to help children resolve or alleviate their problems and worries. ChildLine Scotland answers calls during the days and evenings, a 24 hour service is maintained through the London, Glasgow and Birmingham base using the same 0800 1111 number. This inclusive service covers all mainland and island Scotland and is available at no cost to all children and young people who have access to and are able to use a telephone.

Eligibility: Any child or young person with any problem.

Both these priority lines are available when the Scottish bases are open: Mon 07.30 - Tue 07.30; Tue 12.00 - 23.00; Wed 12.00 - 21.30; Thu 13.30 - 23.00; Fri 07.30 - 23.00; Sat 07.30 - 14.00 & 18.00 - 00.30 (night service cover from 00.00 - 07.30 every 3rd Sat night); Sun 07.30 - 14.00 & 18.00 - Mon 07.30. Outside these times the priority lines will get answered by other bases but just as normal ChildLine service.
