This section is provided primarily as an information resource for anyone wishing to know how the West Lothian Local Development Plan 2018 came into being.
It identifies the key stages in the plan making process starting from a 'call for sites' exercise in 2011, through the 'Main Issues' and 'Proposed Plan' phases, Examination, Modification and finally the Adoption of the plan in September 2018.
It records the timetable of events and key dates and provides readers with links to all of the relevant reports and public documents.
Reference data is also provided in relation to the former West Lothian Local Plan, the first district-wide local plan embracing the whole of West Lothian, which was adopted in January 2009. The Written Statement, the Proposals Maps and all of the Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG) which supported the West Lothian Local Plan can be viewed here.
The West Lothian Local Plan was the first district wide local plan for West Lothian and the primary land use planning policy document between January 2009 and September 2018 when it was superseded by the Adopted West Lothian Local Development Plan 2018.
