Big thanks to Advice Shop volunteers
Those who give up their free time to help other West Lothian residents have been thanked for their dedication.
A special ceremony was held recently to thank all the volunteers who work with the Advice Shop and Macmillan @ West Lothian Cancer information and Support Service, with two volunteers achieving the landmark of five years volunteering service.
Both services were presented with a Volunteer Friendly Award, which is a quality standard which supports, recognises and rewards groups who are good at involving volunteers.
Thanking the volunteers for their contribution, Depute Council Leader Kirsteen Sullivan said: "A huge thank you to all the volunteers with Advice Shop and Macmillan @ West Lothian, who give up their own precious time to help others.
"Volunteers help to support those facing challenging circumstances in a variety of roles from providing support to people affected by cancer, to assisting people affected by ill health to claim disability benefits and raising awareness of the Advice Shop in the community.
"It's fantastic to meet the volunteers and hear about their positive experiences helping others to get the support they need."
