General Information and Enquiries

Please note:  Due to COVID 19, there remains no public entry to any West Lothian library except pre-booked Click & Collect, Phone & Collect or Returns appointments.  Therefore all in-house activities, use of Public Access PCs, Photocopying and Printing services remain unavailable at this time.

If you require replacement hearing aid batteries please contact your local Health Centre or contact NHS Lothian Audiology Department on the telephone number provided on your replacement batteries card (yellow card) or email audiology@nhslothian.scot.nhs.uk and provide your name, address, the battery type and number of batteries required. 


From Monday 14th September 2020 Click & Collect and Phone & Collect services will be available from all West Lothian Libraries during COVID 19. 

Please check your local library for individual business hours.


How do I join?

Whilst there is no public access to the libraries due to COVID 19 you can still become a West Lothian library member by completing an online application which can be found here.


What can I borrow?

  • Items from our Library catalogue

You may borrow up to 5 items at a time using our Click/Phone & Collect services.  You can reserve or renew your items online.  Simply log into your account here and select the 'My Account' or 'Log in' tab at the top of the page and enter your library barcode (no spaces) and your PIN.  These services can also be accessed using your mobile devices with our BookMyne app.  We don't charge fines for overdue books.  

  • Digital Resources

We have a substantial selection of e-Books, e-Talking books and e-magazines available to download free to West Lothian library members. Find more details for all of these services on our Digital library pages.

  • BBC micro:bits

micro:bits are available to borrow from our online catalogue.

The BBC micro:bit is a handheld, programmable micro-computer that can be used for all sorts of cool creations, from robots to musical instruments, the possibilities are endless.

Full instructions on getting started are included in the micro:bit customer packs and full user instructions and fun things to try are provided on the microbit website
