Gardens competition is blooming good
Green-fingered West Lothian residents are being encouraged to enter the council's annual Gardens Competition.
Gardening is a healthy, fun activity that enhances and enriches not just your own property but the wider West Lothian community. The competition is for both amateurs and non-professionals, and aims to encourage local residents to get involved in gardening.
There are a range of categories including: Wildlife Garden; Vegetable Garden; Floral Containers; Best New Entrant and Best Community Garden. Younger ones can enter the Tallest Sunflower category, and the General Gardens will now be judged small, medium and large sections depending on size.
The deadline for entries is Friday 13 July 3018, with judging starting on Monday 23 July 2018. The prize giving event will take place on Friday 26 October 2018
To enter, please email details to email@example.com or call 01506 280000. Entrants lucky enough to win three times in a row, are excluded for the fourth time.
A West Lothian Council spokesperson said: "We know there are many fantastic gardens in West Lothian, so would encourage local gardeners to enter the 2018 Gardens Competition.
"The deadline for entries is Friday 13 July, so please enter now to make sure you don't miss out."
