Libraries to be retained
West Lothian Council is set to retain libraries at Almondbank, Lanthorn and Pumpherston.
A meeting of the full council voted to instruct officers to examine ways to ensure the continuation of library provision at all three locations.
A report will be prepared for the Culture and Leisure Policy Development and Scrutiny Panel (PDSP) and Council Executive in September 2018.
Leader of the Council Lawrence Fitzpatrick said: "We believe it is vital that key public services are maintained in areas of disadvantage such Craigshill, Dedridge and Pumpherston.
"Officers will now look at alternative efficiencies from within Library Services to make the savings identified."
