- Summer Reading Challenge
The Summer Reading Challenge is open to all primary school aged children and is designed for all reading abilities. Children can read whatever they like - comic books, fact books, joke books, picture books - just as long as they are borrowed from the library. Children receive special rewards each time they finish a book. Every child who completes the Challenge receives a certificate and medal and FREE entry to Almond Valley Heritage Centre when accompanied by one paying adult per child. Access2Employment advisers offer continuing support tailored around the individual so that they are equipped with employability skills that meet the needs of employers, recognising that one size does not fit all. Advisers help people to develop confidence, advise on preparing CVs, provide interview guidance, assist with the completion of application forms and provide overall employability support.
