Linlithgow Library

The library is situated in Tam Dalyell House (formerly County Buildings) and provides books, children's activities and public computers.

Linlithgow Library Will be closed on Tuesday 4th December 2018 for their annual stock check.  On this date customers will be unable to borrow any items but items can still be returned to the Reception Desk.  Public Access PCs will NOT be available on this date.  Items can be renewed by phoning 01506 283880 or online at

What's On

To celebrate Book Week Scotland there will be a Scottish themed Bookbug session on Thursday 22nd followed by a Coffee Morning until 12pm, booking is essential for Linlithgow Bookbug sessions as places are limited.  To book places or for further information please contact the Library.

  • Bookbug sessions

Stories, songs & rhymes for babies, toddlers & pre-school children.  Bring a grown-up with you to share in the fun. Sessions at Linlithgow Library must be booked in advance by calling the library on 01506 283880.

  • Saturday 10th, Thursday 22nd (followed by a coffee morning until 12pm) & Tuesday 27th November at 10.15am


  • Storytimes

Storytime sessions are for children aged three and four years old and take place on Monday mornings at 10.30am.  Sessions will take place during term-time only and places must be booked in advance.  Please contact Linlithgow library to book a place on 01506 283880.


  • Linlithgow Readers

The Book Group meets on the first Tuesday of the month to discuss their chosen novel.  The next meeting will be on Tuesday 6th November at 5.30pm and will receive an author Reading by Sam McColl. New members are welcome.


  • Museum Display Case
