The library is located in the Lanthorn Community Centre, Dedridge, Livingston.

Lanthorn Library provides a comprehensive library service for people of all ages:

Monday: 10am - 3pm

Tuesday: 11am - 5pm

Wednesday: 11am - 4pm

Thursday: 10am - 7pm

Friday: 11am - 5pm

Saturday: 9am - 1pm

Family History Centre

The Family History Centre is now open in the library, with volunteers from the West Lothian Family History Society providing help and support to those who would like to research their family tree. No appointment necessary, and the centre is open at the following times:

Monday: 10am -3pm

Thursday: 11am - 4pm

Free WiFi

Free WiFi is now available in the library. Simply register for a MyGovScot account and use this to sign in to the WiFi.

Judy Blume is the author of the month for February.  Judy Blume celebrates her 80th birthday on 12 February and books and activities about her novels will be available,

For March, James Patterson is the author of the month. Design a book cover to enter the competition to win a James Patterson prize.


  • Book Group

The Book Group meets in the library on the last Thursday of the month at 5.45pm, and new members are always welcome.  The next meetings are:

  • Storytime and Easter Crafts

Our "Happy Easter Tooth Fairy" storytime takes place on Friday 16 March at 2.00pm.
