East Calder library is currently open as normal and is due to move to the new partnership centre in the Autumn.

- Book Week Scotland Mindfulness Session
Book Week Scotland runs from 27 November to 3 December 2017. As part of the programme of events, local author Deborah Malcolm [125kb] will hold a mindfulness session at East Calder Library. The session will look at coping with the stresses of modern life and takes place on Thursday 30 November between 3.30pm and 4.30pm.
If you are interested in attending, please speak to library staff, as booking is essential.

Relaxed book group. An hour of friendly discussion with free refreshments. Please note the book group will take a break in December and resume in January.
- Adult Book Group A - Book Week Scotland Author Visit
The next meeting will take place on Thursday 30 November at 5.45pm and, as part of the Book Week Scotland programme, local author Brian Smith will read excerpts from his book. The book is about the author's travels throughout the Far East in the 1960's. Please contact library staff if you are interested in attending as booking is essential.
The book group will take a break in December and resume in January.
- Scottish Storytime and Crafts
As part of the Book Week Scotland programme, East Calder Library is holding a Scottish storytime and craft session on Friday 1 December at 12.30pm. Come along and colour in wooden ornamental trees.
The library offers registration services by appointment for any birth or death that occur anywhere in Scotland or marriage within West Lothian.
