The Local Government Pension Scheme in Scotland changed on 1st April 2015

A video to explain the changes to members of the Local Government Pension Scheme has been produced.  The video includes information on how Career Average will work, what happens to the benefits built up prior to April 2015 and explains the protections for members including those nearing retirement. Employee Benefit Scheme

West Lothian Council provide an employee benefits package as part of its People Strategy, recognising and rewarding our employees contribution to the success of the council.  Employees can save money because the council has negotiated discounts with over 1000 businesses.  Full details can be found on the employee benefit scheme website.

Sports & Social Club

The Sports and Social Club for Council employees is run by a committee comprising of elected representatives from various Council units.  A variety of events are organised, such as theatre trips, race days, park tickets (Safari Park etc). Events are advertised on the Councils Intranet Notice board or notified to members via email. 

There is a monthly draw with five cash prizes of up to £150.  Membership is currently £2.00 per month.
