Adaptations to a Property for People with a Disability
The Council will also provide assistance to homeowners that require adaptations to their property to meet the needs of a member of their household with a disability. The purpose of the adaptations is to improve their quality of life at home. This process is outlined in the Disability Adaptations for Home Owners 2015 [400kb] leaflet.
Mortgage to Rent
If you own your home and are in danger of having it repossessed then you could consider the Mortgage to Rent Scheme (MTR). Under the MTR fund, your home will be bought by a housing association or local authority and you will continue to live there as a tenant, paying rent. For more information on this, please see West Lothian Council's report [168kb], MTR example [11kb] and Scottish Goverment MTR page.
