ARMADALE LIBRARY 

  • Armadale : History of a Community

A display by the History of Armadale Association with lots of fascinating facts about life, work and leisure in Armadale over the last 200 years and more.

  • School Dux Board

Armadale Primary School Dux Board for the 1930s to the 1950s. The board was beautifully carved by Mr Slater, a local teacher, and shows the names of the girl and boy duxes. Come along and see if someone from your family is on the list!

  • West Lothian and the Forgotten War

Memories of the days of National Service focussing on those young conscripts who were sent to fight in the Korean War. On display until 31 March 2012.

B ATHGATE LIBRARY   

Bathgate Library is now open in the new Bathgate Partnership Centre, South Bridge Street.  New opening hours are Monday - Friday 8.30am - 8.00pm and Saturday 8.30am - 4.00pm.  Staff will be available during these hours for requests and information. The Bathgate Partnership Centre will close to the public at 10.00pm. A self service terminal is available to the public for self issue, book returns and renewals until 9.30pm.  There are 12 computers available for free public use to access the internet, email or MS office packages.  The new telephone number for the newly renamed Simpson Library is 01506 282911.

BLACKBURN CONNECTED

  • Reading Group

This meets the first Wednesday of the month at 1.30pm. If you are interested in reading, meeting people and having a chat over a tea/coffee, then come along and join in.

  • Friday Club

Storytime and craft activities are on offer at this weekly children's club. The club meets on a Friday between 1.30 pm and 2.30 pm.

  • Computer Taster Classes

Computer taster courses, word processing, internet, e-mail.  Classes last approximately 1 hour and are timetabled to meet the individual's needs.  Ideal for people who have no computer experience.  Contact the library to arrange a class on telephone number 01506 776500.

  • Access to Employment Surgeries

Advice and support to help you into work. Every Tuesday afternoon 2.00pm - 5.00pm.

 

BLACKRIDGE LIBRARY

  • Community Museum Exhibition - Making Tracks : Railways in West Lothian

A display celebrating the old railways of West Lothian and the new stations on the re-opened Airdrie-Bathgate line. The exhibition includes memories of the son of the last station master at Westcraigs.

  • Tuesday Book Group

East Calder's Tuesday Book Group meets on the first Tuesday of the month between 6.45 pm and 7.45 pm. Come along and join in the lively discussion.  Refreshments are provided.

Anime DVD box sets are now available for a three week loan for only £2.50.

Aeon Flux, Naruto Shippudden and Morbito are our top titles.DVDs are available to anyone over 12 years (parental permission must be obtained for 12-16 years).
