  • Book Groups

If you enjoy reading and talking about books, then you might like to join one of our Library Book Groups. Almondbank,   Bathgate , Blackburn, Broxburn, Carmondean,   East Calder (new window) Fauldhouse, Lanthorn (new window) , Linlithgow (new window) ,   West Calder and Whitburn Libraries hold monthly Book Group meetings and new members are always welcome.

ReadABLE Book Group

There is also a reading group for people with hearing difficulties, which meets monthly in Room 4 in Bathgate Partnership Centre on a Friday morning at 11am. The next dates are 17 May and 14 June.

Costa Book of the Year 2012

Hilary Mantel has won the Costa Book Award for her novel "Bring up the bodies", the only person to win the Costa and Man Booker awards in the same year.

Man Booker Prize for Fiction 2012 Winner

Hilary Mantel has won this year's Man Booker Prize for Fiction for her novel "Bring up the bodies". Hilary is only the third person to win the Booker Prize twice and the only one to have won for a sequel. She previously won for "Wolf Hall" in 2009.

Orange Prize for Fiction 2012 Winner
