Ask Scotland Enquiry Service
Ask Scotland (new window) is an online information service provided by Scotland's public libraries, that lets you get real answers from real people. Ask Scotland specialises in questions about Scotland and its history, but we are happy to answer general reference queries too.
Scottish historian and broadcaster Neil Oliver took time out from filming to launch Ask Scotland and commented "Ask Scotland is a fantastic new resource that allows people to access a wide range of information that may not be accesssible by simply searching the web. The main benefit is that it links you to an expert who has access to a wealth of information and resources held in Scotland's libraries, ensuring that you receive a fast, fully researched and accurate response to any question. I will certainly be taking advantage of the service!"
You can email a question using the online form (new window) or chat with a librarian using our instant messaging service, which is available 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Chat online :
Monday - Friday, 9.00am - 5.00pm.
