Check it out logoThere are 14 community libraries in West Lothian and the Public Reference Library is located in West Lothian College in Livingston. We also have two mobile libraries, which will visit outlying areas. If you want to find out about West Lothian's past or search your family tree, then visit our Local History Library at Library HQ in Blackburn.

Library membership is open to anyone who lives, works or has an interest in West Lothian. All you need to join is two forms of identification, one of which must include your name and address. There is no minimum age to join and it's FREE to borrow books and to use the computer. Click here to view or download the leaflet that explains the wide range of services on offer at your local library.

Newspapers and Magazines

Breastfeeding Friendly Libraries

West Lothian Libraries have been awarded the Breastfeeding Friendly Award and welcome mothers who want to breastfeed in any public area of the library, and all members of staff will support the needs of breastfeeding mothers.
