Internet, computers and online information
All libraries in West Lothian have access to computers. You can use them to:
- access the internet
- do word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations, cvs etc
- print your work
- save your work onto a memory stick (available to buy in the library)
Anyone who lives, works or takes an interest in West Lothian can join free.
Users are expected to become library members and those under 16 require permission from a parent or guardian.
WiFi hotspots can be found at Bathgate, Carmondean, Linlithgow and Whitburn libraries, so bring along your wireless enabled laptop or PDA and enjoy FREE, fast, broadband access to the Internet.
Ask Scotland is an online reference service which brings together librarians from all over Scotland to provide expertise to answer your reference queries. Click on the Ask Scotland (new window) link to ask your question and you will receive a reply by email within 48 hours.
We subscribe to a variety of online databases, some of which you can access from home, so click on the logos below to bring the facts alive, search newspapers or discover Scottish life in the 18th and 19th centuries.

News UK offers access to dozens of national and local newspapers online.
