Book Groups
If you enjoy reading and talking about books, then you might like to join one of our Library Book Groups. Blackburn , Broxburn , East Calder , Fauldhouse , Lanthorn , West Calder and Whitburn Libraries hold monthly Book Group meetings and new members are always welcome.
Man Booker Prize Winner 2008
Aravind Adiga has won the year's Man Booker prize for his debut novel "The white tiger", an angry and darkly humorous tale of one man's journey from poverty in rural India to entrepreneurial success. This is available from libraries and can be requested throught the online catalogue. (new window)

Best of the Booker Prize
Salman Rushdie has won the Best of the Booker prize for his novel "Midnight's Children". The one-off prize was awarded to celebrate 40 years of the Booker Prize and was chosen by a public vote from a short-list of six. Orange Broadband Prize 2008
