Young people's drop-in activities

 

The work with young people team will be responsible for delivering a range
of activities related to:

  • The provision of high quality youth information and guidance, tackling health issues, personal safety and relationships
  • Supporting young people's effective engagement in civic and community life
  • Recognising and celebrating the achievements of young people through promoting schemes such as the Duke of Edinburgh's Awards, Youth Achievement Awards, The Prince's Trust, Young Scot Awards, John Muir Award and Young Quality Scot Awards
  • Targeting those engaged in risk behaviour, particularly at transition
    between primary and secondary education
  • Supporting the development of integrated provision through their
    participation in Locality Planning
  • Partnership working with Integrated Children and Young People Support Teams
  • Directing a programme of increased youth activity within communities across the county, particularly at weekends where demand exists
  • Developing collaborative working with other services within Education and Cultural Services including the arts, sports, libraries and outdoor education to create a balanced consistent programme within each Mainstream Club delivered by staff with the appropriate skills
  • Developing international opportunities recognising the importance of
    this work for the personal development of young people
  • Supporting the development of voluntary sector activity
  • Youth Literacy
