Put Your West Foot Forward - Walking Programme
"Put Your West Foot Forward" is a project which aims to encourage people in West Lothian to become more active by encouraging them to walk more. To achieve this the projects is committed to developing a programme of short health walks based within local communities. The health walks are targeted at those who have been inactive for sometime and are short e.g. 20 - 60 mins and cover 1/2 mile to 3 miles depending on the group's ability. Walks use local amenities to make the walks accessible to most people, e.g. walks around the town, local parks, community woodland areas and open spaces. Walk routes are specifically selected with beginners in mind. Local walks are available in Armadale, Bathgate, Broxburn, Craigshill, Fauldhouse, Winchburgh and Whitburn. "A Walk on the Inside" is also available and is an indoor walk around The Centre in Livingston, designed for people recovering from illness or operations or for those new to activity.
