Mental Health Advocacy Project (West Lothian)

The Mental Health Advocacy Project (MHAP) provides an independent advocacy service for people with mental health problems resident or in hospital in West Lothian. MHAP offers individual and collective advocacy to adults and young people to help with a range of issues such as: detention, care and treatment, housing issues, family issues, benefits/financial issues, accessing legal assistance, etc. We can also help people to access information about local groups and services and national groups. Our service is free of charge. Eligibility: Adults and young people resident or in hospital in West Lothian with a past or current mental health problem with priority given to those subject to: the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003, the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000, the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007.
