Local History Library
For information on West Lothian's history or heritage, visit the West Lothian Local History Library.
The Local History Library is based in Linlithgow Library, while County Buildings is refurbished. Because some of our stock has had to go into storage, it would be advisable to contact us in advance to let us know what you require. We can then make sure that we have what you need ready for your visit.
The library holds tens of thousands of items relating to every aspect of West Lothian and its heritage:
- local newspapers
- DVDs and videos
- family history resources
Whether your question relates to coal or shale mining, architecture, archaeology, wildlife, churches, modern-day West Lothian - or even your own town or village, your house or your ancestors, then contact the Local History Library.
