It's Christmas but with no cards, tree, presents or food it is hard to celebrate. If only Esmerelda the chicken would agree to laying an egg. It could be a scrambled Christmas dinner or a fried Christmas dinner or...but Esmerelda just won?t be persuaded, unless she hears her favourite story, the story of Rudolf.
With only the bits and pieces from their tiny house, huge imaginations and the strongest sense of the ridiculous our two unlikely story-tellers attempt the tale of Rudolf, the reindeer with dreams, who just does not "nose" why he doesn't fit in.
Rudolf was created by Andy Manley who has been involved - as an actor, deviser and director - with many of the best children's theatre companies in Scotland. A founding member of Visible Fictions Theatre Company he is an Associate Artist of Catherine Wheels Theatre Company and a co-creator of the production Martha which has toured to Canada, US, Holland, China, Singapore, Tasmania, Norway, Sweden and taken in Broadway. Rudolf was first produced by the Macrobert Arts Centre in 2008 and was nominated for a CATS award for Best Show for Children and Young People.
Rudolf is a magical, funny, fast, engrossing show for everyone who has ever been 3 years old.
