Licences - poisons
Trading standards enforce the provisions of the Poisons Act 1972 and the Poisons Rules 1982, prohibiting the sale of poisons unless the seller is a retail pharmacist or a person who has his name on the local authority's list of permitted sellers. There are restrictions on which poisons a listed seller can sell from his premises. Suitable traders with appropriate premises may apply for inclusion in the list on payment of a fee. The period of registration for poisons runs from 1st June to 31st May in any year.
The current fees are as follows:
- Initial registration: £29.24
- Re-registration: £15.42
- Change in details: £7.87
