Licences - gambling

The Gambling Act 2005 introduced the following types of licences:

Premises Licences

If you are operating from fixed premises within West Lothian Board, rather than online (remotely), you must contact the local authority (West Lothian Licensing Board (new window)) which is responsible for the administration of the 2005 Act in respect of licensing premises.

The document below entitled 'Gambling Fees and Lodging Applications Information'  explains the process for applying for a licence from West Lothian Licensing Board and also has details of the fees for applying for a premises licence.

Definition of Premises

  • Regional Casinos
  • Large Casinos
  • Small Casino
  • Bingo
  • Adult Gaming Centre
  • Family Entertainment Centre (Gaming Arcades)
  • Betting (Track)
  • Betting (Other)   (i.e Betting Offices)

One application form applies to all of the above Premises Licences. It can be downloaded below and is also available from the Gambling Commission (new window) or from the Scottish Government (new window).
