In 2007 West Lothian became the first unitary local authority in the UK to receive a Corporate Charter Mark - the Government's gold award for excellent customer service.
In 2009, we also achieved five star level (gold) in EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management) Recognised for Excellence scheme. This achievement is awarded to organisations that can demonstrate high performance and a commitment to providing excellent services.
