Truancy
Every case of truancy will be investigated by the School and Family Support Worker and any salient facts emerging from the investigation will be recorded and held on file. Due care will be taken in the recording whenever sensitive or confidential information is involved.
Initial Investigation
Secondary schools: The appropriate member of School Guidance Team will carry out the initial investigation or, where this would result in too long a delay, a member of the School Management Team.
Primary schools : a member of the School Management Team or, in small schools, the Head Teacher will carry out the initial investigation.
