Parental support - criminal justice

The Criminal Justice service focuses mainly on the offender. However an offender?s activities often have an impact on family members, either directly or indirectly. While family members may sometimes be the victims of an offender, it is more likely that they will be disadvantaged by aspects of the offender?s pattern of behaviour, such as alcohol or drug misuse, and children will often suffer from poor parenting.

Criminal Justice staff share Social Work?s responsibility for assessing the risk to all individuals living with people with whom we are working, and work closely with colleagues from various parts of the service in reducing the risk to vulnerable people of all ages.
