Childcare - services for childminders
The Scottish Childminding Association (SCMA) is the only dedicated support organisation in Scotland for childminding. The SCMA is committed to the development needs of childminders and actively promotes childminding as a quality childcare choice.
SCMA has many useful publications promotional items and business aids which have been specifically designed to assist with childminding services. These tools allow childminders to start up and maintain their business in a way that is accurate and easy to understand.

Grants of up to £250 are available for individuals who need financial support in order to meet the Care Commission's requirements of registration as a childminder.
Anyone starting a registered childminding business in West Lothian is eligible to apply for a grant. However grants will only be paid in respect of the specific requirements laid down by the Care Commission following their inspection and detailed in their pre-registration letter of requirements.
