Council constitution and standing orders

Corporate Governance is the system by which the Council directs or controls its functions and relates to its communities.

The principles of good governance are openness and inclusivity, integrity, and accountability, and are defined in and applied to the Council through its local Code of Corporate Governance (available below).

This Code refers to a number of key documents, such as Standing Orders, Financial Regulations, policies and procedures which regulate the governance of the Council's operations (also available below).

An annual statement of compliance by the Council is signed by the Chief Executive and the Council Leader and contained in the Council's annual accounts which are audited by external auditors each year
