Property Performance

Regular measurement of asset performance is a fundamental strand in the approach to making better use of assets.  This is achieved through the regular collection of:

Statutory Performance Indicators

The Accounts Commission has a statutory responsibility to specify information that councils must publish about their performance, in the form of statutory performance indicators. The information is collected and published locally by each council after being checked by its auditor. It includes the following property asset management indicators:

Public Access

The number of council buildings from which the council delivers services to the public and the percentage of these in which all public areas are suitable for and accessible to disabled people.

Condition

The proportion of operational accommodation that is in satisfactory condition

Suitability

The proportion of operational accommodation that is suitable for its current use
